Whirlpool Dishwasher is not Draining: If your Whirlpool dishwasher is not working and you are washing all the dirty dishes by hand wash. To fix your Whirlpool dishwasher here some simple solutions to be followed. To solve the dishwasher at first you have to check where the problem occurred. In most cases, the problem will be occurred only due to two issues. Either there will be a problem with the Malfunctioning of the wash motor or the clogging of sprayer holes. So let us solve these two problems.

Malfunctioning of Whirlpool Wash Motor

In most cases, the Whirlpool dishwasher will get filled with water but it doesn’t work properly due to the problem in Malfunctioning of the wash motor. So for that check where the wash motor is located and check the condition of the motor. If there is a problem with the motor you can listen to the sounds. Remove the dishwasher out and listen to the motor. If the dishwasher Is filled with water and not working properly then for sure the motor was damaged.

How to Check Wash Motor

  • First, disconnect the power supply of the dishwasher by switching it with the proper circuit breaker.
  • Now find the motor which is behind the access panel.
  • This access panel is protected with 2 or 4 screws so remove all the screws to open it.
  • In some dishwashers, you have to open the door for removing the screws. After removing close the door of the panel.
  • Now disconnect the two wires which are connected to the motor.
  • Now by using Multimeter set the device motor to R×1.
  • Test all the terminals of Multimeter.
  • The motor should have low resistance such as zero or nearby value.
  • And also check the ground connection by touching one probe on the Metal of the motor. It shows zero reading.
  • If both the meters show wrong reading then the motor was damaged.

How to Place Wash Motor

  • At first disconnect all the power supply by turning off the proper circuit breaker.
  • Find the motor behind the kick panel.
  • Remove the screws and open the door and remove the dish rack on the lower side.
  • Now remove The drain hose might be clogged. To unclog the drain hose, remove the drain hose from both the dishwasher and the sink drain and clean it out. Spray tower and lower spray assembly which is with one single bolt.
  • If there is any filter assembly near the spray tower also remove that and disconnect the two wires connected to the motor.
  • Now remove the pump connected to the drain house and lift the motor from the base of the dishwasher.
  • Make sure the surroundings are dry to prevent shock and now reverse all the stores for installing a new motor.
  • Now pour one gallon of water into the tub and Check whether there are any leaks.
  • Now restore the power and test the machine.

Solution for Clogging in Spray Armholes

  • First, you have to remove the spray arm from the dishwasher.
  • Now by taking a wire which is smaller than spray arm holes clean the holes.
  • Now put the spray arm back and turn it on. Now if the clogging is in severe condition use warm water and vinegar solution to clear the way.
